  • Champions Cup for the fastest team

Champions Cup Team Scoring: Top 6 men and top 6 women in the 5K will score points according to overall place BY GENDER using GUN TIME (cross country style).

What is cross country scoring? This style scores runners by points corresponding to their finishing place within their gender. Lowest score wins! The first six runners from each team to cross the finish line receive the points that correspond to their place. The first place runner receives one point, the second place runner two, and so on. The team receiving the lowest score wins. Teams with runners in the Larimer Mile will have the opportunity to reduce their overall team score by placing runners in the top ten in both the men's and women's competitive races using places determined by GUN TIME. Point reductions will be awarded based on places from first to tenth in descending order, -10 to -1 points (ie first place M/F -10 points; second place M/F -9 points; tenth M/F -1 point; etc...). Team members can run one or both distances and there's no limit to the number of runners a team can place in either race. This means, it is possible for a team to sweep first through tenth places in both the men's and women's mile races and reduce their total team score by the maximum 110 points (-55 for both the men's and women's mile). Lowest score wins!
